Not much point in excusing myself...

..when the last time I titled a post apologizing for the blogging dearth is only, like, 3 down from the top on my sidebar. Guess I'm going to have to stop making fun of my poor husband for his "periodic" postings - at least he laid it all out for us right there in his blog title! So I'm lazy AND misleading. Sweet. Anyway, to make up for the drought I've got lots of yummy pictures of the kids and I'll even try to throw in some funny captions to smooth things over. Deal?

Devlin and David had a Super Incredibly Fabulous time at Fathers and Sons outing this year. Dev talked abut nothing else for days - his favorite parts were roasting marshmallows (pictured here with the fruits of his labor and his little buddy, Austin) and sleeping in a tent with his dad. What's not to like?

Only hours after returning from F&S, our whole family was treated to an awesome zoo outing courtesy of David's new company, Statera. It included a train ride, lunch, and face painting (Devlin chose a green sparkly dog, and Eve a selected pink sparkly "quack quack" but did not condescend to a photo opportunity). The kids had a great time, but I was wholly unprepared for the combination of midday heat and pregnancy and had to be revived with smelling salts and cold water. I spent the entire car ride home with my face in front of the AC vent, weeping and mumbling something about "no way I'm going to make it through the summer", etc. Pathetic, but true. I bare my soul for you guys. You're welcome.

The Cutest Kids Ever go to church. Kindly notice Devlin's new suit (it has a jacket too - seriously, I could die he's so handsome) and Eve's short-lived ponytail. Mostly we're still in the wild hair stage here, as evidenced by all other photos of her.

She takes excellent care of her "beebee" and is often to be found wearing Molly in her very own sling. Apparently she's been to the Britney Spears school of motherhood and thinks piloting a vehicle with a child on one's lap to be a completely appropriate recreational

This is what she does when we ask her to smile for the camera.

Give Molly a kiss!

Hey, who's that hot guy on my front porch?! It's my husband, who is tipping the scales (what's the opposite of tipping the scales?) at just under 220, a number that he has not seen since his high school days. He's on a roll, and still losing. You look fantastic, honey!

Me and Evie, just hangin' out.

Last weekend, we bid a very fond farewell to this car:

with this one soon to follow, hopefully:

Because baby, it's minivan time! We tried, we really did, to fit 3 kids in the back of the toaster but it just wasn't happening. Even David, he of the car snob mentality, said it was time to bite the bullet and get a 3-row vehicle. So we've set our sights on a Honda Odyssey (yes, Heidi, I'm totally copying you!) and hoping Craigslist continues to be kind to us. Devlin is really distraught at all the upheaval in our garage, but we're confident that a new minivan with a back-up camera will bring him back to 4-year-old equilibrium once again.

And we're caught up! We had lots of fun family time today, just like most Saturdays. Gosh, I just love Saturday. I took my mom out shopping and to lunch for Mother's Day (she was out of town on the actual Day) and David took the kids on a bunchy of errands (no really, I was even impressed with his ambitious morning agenda when he told me about it!) During Eve's naptime, he and Devlin made a little planter box they got from a free kit at Lowe's across the street. Heart-melting tender bonding moment ahead:

And there you have it - the last month of our lives, roughly. David's kicking me off the computer so he can write his Elder's Quorum lesson for tomorrow so I bid you adieu. Hopefully I'll be back in less than a month this time, but you know me - I'm not making any promises.
