"Happiness is excitement that has found a settling-down place, but there is always a little corner that keeps flapping around".

I love ya, tomorrow

At 7:30 tomorrow morning, I will drop my girls at my neighbor's house. Devlin will walk with his friends to the bus stop.

Then I will sit in a little room with David and we will sign our little lives away (which sounds positively relaxing after 2 weeks of packing with a toddler in the house).

This will be my new home. I will sit on that lovely porch and read a book
and watch my kids ride their bikes around the cul-de-sac. I will look out of those windows while I do the dishes, play the piano, and fold the laundry.

My little family is leaving the house where we began, and moving to the house where we will grow up.

So, it's been a month or so.

In case anyone reads my blog and only my blog for all your Rachel News, there have been big changes in our household since last we spoke! My family has purchased a new house (well, new to us) and we will be moving April 17th. It has been a whirlwind, but we feel very good about the move and are thrilled to be taking up residence in what we anticipate to be our permanent family home. (It's still in Mesa, so don't freak out. We're not going anywhere).

I haven't been able to bring myself to blog about the process, because we tried to move a few years ago and were thwarted at the last possible moment by buyers who were not able to secure financing. We packed up all our belongings, turned off our water and electricity, and then had to move right back into our very own house. I have done that, and my worst fear was that it would happen again. I couldn't bear to even start blogging about it until I was sure, beyond a reasonable doubt, that this move would go through.

Everything is in order this time, and we close in less than a week. We will be renting our current house, so no buyers to fall through. The house is amazing, the yard is more than we ever dreamed of, and I can't wait to have you all over for a housewarming party!

I present to you, literally, the only pictures I have taken with something other than a cell phone since my last blog entry. (One of the) Easter egg hunts this year:

Devlin gathering eggs like there was a million dollars at stake:

Eve almost didn't need any help this year:

And Iris can't figure out why everyone is picking up more eggs instead of eating the candy they already have:

Happy, blessed Easter from my family to yours.
